First Floor
Emergency Department
ARMC's Emergency Department features 24 ED rooms with four behavioral health rooms (in the Daniel Keaton, MD & Samar El-Sayegh, MD Behavioral Health Section); a larger waiting area; separate entrances for walk-in patients and those brought in by ambulance; and more.
The new ED features 24 patient rooms (increased from 18), including four behavioral health rooms (in the Daniel Keaton, MD & Samar El-Sayegh, MD Behavioral Health Section) and treatment rooms for critical patients (the Daniel Keaton, MD & Samar El-Sayegh, MD Resuscitation Rooms). It features a larger waiting area; separate entrances for walk-in patients and those brought in by ambulance; and more. The Martini's Restaurant and Lounge Triage Room and HAVE Heating and Cooling Triage Room features space for caregivers and patients to discuss and assess walk-in injuries or illnesses prior to being moved to an ED treatment room. The ED waiting area houses the ARMC security office, sponsored by Larry & Karen DeGeorge and Security Technologies.
The new Emergency Department walk-in entrance is on the south side of the new Patient Care Tower. Cars can enter via the south drive and turn into the ED parking area.


The new helipad is located behind the new Patient Care Tower. The new ambulance entrance is in the lower left of this photo, while the old ambulance entrance is in the middle left.
The atrium features a wall of windows to maximize the amount of natural light coming in and is furnished with comfortable seating for visitors. A frosted glass wall separates the seating area from the corridor that leads into the other areas of the patient care tower. ARMC caregivers staff the Information Desk to help patients and visitors with questions and to direct them to hospital services. A hallway next to the Information Desk connects the patient care tower to the old hospital. The atrium also features the donor recognition wall that showcases individuals and businesses who have contributed $250 or more to the Advancing Healthcare Today and Tomorrow fundraising campaign
The wound healing center moves from its long-time location on the northeast side of the hospital to a prominent location on the southwest side of the new Patient Care Tower. ARMC has provided wound healing services since 2008. The new facility features two state-of-the-art hyperbaric oxygen therapy chambers, one of which is sponsored by Dr. Olusegun and Abidun Ogunlesi.
The gift shop is a beloved stopping point for patients, families, and ARMC caregivers. The gift shop offers a variety of food items, as well as decorations, home goods, books, children’s items, and seasonal fare.
Adjacent to the gift shop, this lounge area features a small set of tables and chairs, and a coffee, tea, and beverage machine for hot or cold drinks.
This room provides private space for caregivers and providers to meet with family members to discuss their loved one’s care.
The new Community Education Room provides space for dozens of people for events, educational classes and more. The room offers state-of-the-art video technology for in-person and virtual meetings, as well as multiple video screens and electronic hookups for additional devices.
Second Floor
Surgery and PACU
ARMC's second floor features the Richard S. Morrison Surgical Suite with five operating rooms, with an option to open a sixth. Surgeons have access to our new daVinci Xi surgical robot. There are also 18 Pre/Post Anesthesia rooms on this floor.
Patients awaiting surgery and family members waiting for their loved ones to complete a surgery will wait in the Richard S. Morrison Surgical Suite waiting area. Comfortable chairs provide a view of the Ashtabula River through the south-facing windows that allow natural light to stream into the area.
One of ARMC's new operating rooms features our new daVinci Xi surgical robot.
ARMC's new Da Vinci Xi surgical robot improves minimally invasive surgery by enabling surgeons to be even more precise with their instruments. This means surgeons can spare healthy tissue, limit blood loss, and reduce the risk of surgical trauma or infection.
The da Vinci Xi can be used for a variety of general and specialty surgeries, including colorectal, gynecologic, bariatric, urologic and thoracic.
The new Patient Care Tower second floor features 18 Pre/Post Anesthesia (PACU) rooms. Patients will be checked into these rooms to await surgery. Those who have outpatient surgery will be discharged straight from this unit, while inpatients will be taken back to their rooms on the third or fourth floor.
Third Floor
ICU/PCU and Medical-Surgical Unit
ARMC's third floor is dedicated to inpatient care. All rooms have telemedicine access, which can connect ARMC caregivers and providers with Cleveland Clinic specialists. The intensive care and progressive care units feature continuous monitoring of patients with scheduled nursing or caregiver visits. the inpatient medical-surgical unit offers patients private rooms with additional space for families or other visitors.
ARMC's intensive care unit provides monitored care for patients with extra room for family members to stay with their loved ones. Privacy is provided by sliding glass doors and curtains.
The progressive care unit is for patients who still needed monitored care, but not at the same level as intensive care. These rooms feature space for families, but also have private bathrooms with showers.
The inpatient medical-surgical unit private room offers in-room bathroom and showers. Each room includes telemedicine and offers patients more privacy and additional space for families or other visitors. A couch features a built-in table and will convert to a bed to accommodate family members overnight. Floor-to-ceiling windows let in natural daylight and some rooms have a view of the Ashtabula River. Patient rooms are large enough to accommodate physical therapy sessions at the bedside.

For family and friends waiting to visit patients in the ICU or inpatient medical-surgical unit, there is a public waiting area with a view of the Ashtabula River.
This room provides a convenient space for caregivers to meet and participate in small group education.
Fourth Floor
Medical-Surgical Unit
ARMC's fourth floor is dedicated to our inpatient medical-surgical unit. All rooms have telemedicine access, which can connect ARMC caregivers and providers with Cleveland Clinic specialists. The rooms are private with additional space for families or other visitors.
