Corporate news | Monday, April 1, 2024

Members of the Ashtabula Foundation met recently with leaders from ACMC and the ACMC Foundation to present the first installment of a $250,000 grant. Funds from the grant will be used to create a healing garden next to the new patient care tower on ACMC’s campus.

The Ashtabula Foundation has a long history of awarding funding to ACMC and the ACMC Foundation. ACMC Healthcare System President and CEO Leonard Stepp, Jr., thanked the board members for their support. “We are so grateful for this award and for the funding support the Ashtabula Foundation has provided us in the past. We believe the patient care tower will change the face of healthcare in our county. It is humbling to know that an organization as well-respected as the Ashtabula Foundation believes that, too.”

Individuals and organizations who are interested in supporting the patient care tower and the healing garden can double their gift if their donation is received by the end of October. In addition to the grant already awarded, the Ashtabula Foundation will match all donations received by the ACMC Foundation before October 31, 2024, up to $250,000.

"The Ashtabula Foundation cares deeply for the wellness of the residents of Ashtabula County and is pleased to support the efforts of the Ashtabula County Medical Center to upgrade and provide expanded health care services to our community,” said Timothy N. Green, President of the Ashtabula Foundation.

The new patient care tower at ACMC will feature 55 private inpatient rooms, a new 24-bed Emergency Department, a new surgical suite, and a community/education room. The ACMC Wound Healing Center and the Gift Shop are also being relocated to the patient care tower. The new tower will create an even better environment for patients and caregivers and will enable ACMC to advance our mission of providing quality healthcare that makes a positive impact on our communities.

The 115,000 square foot structure will open at the end of June.
