ARMC Lab re-opens at Orwell Family Health Center

Wednesday, January 15, 2025

Lab service has resumed at ARMC’s Orwell Family Health Center. Patients may visit the center from 8 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. Tuesday through Friday. A provider order is needed for all lab tests. The provider order does not need to be one only from ARMC or Cleveland Clinic. All provider orders are accepted.

Staffed by Ashtabula Regional Medical Center phlebotomists, the lab provides clinical testing to help providers diagnose and manage patient conditions.

Lab services are available on a walk-in or scheduled basis. Patients may reserve an appointment time. Patients without an appointment are served in first-come-first-served order. Results are reported to the ordering provider and to the patient via MyChart.

Samples taken in Orwell are delivered to the ARMC laboratory in Ashtabula where testing is completed. To ensure the integrity and viability of the sample, time-sensitive lab tests, such as Ammonia levels, Blood TB and blood cultures, cannot be collected at Orwell Family Health Center and must be drawn at the main hospital laboratory. Patients can check with the lab in Orwell or at ARMC to confirm the best location for those tests.

ARMC lab services are also available at ARMC’s outpatient lab and at our Family Health Centers in Ashtabula, Conneaut, Geneva, and Jefferson. For more information about locations and hours, please visit www.armchealth.org and click on the Services tab, then Laboratory. Hours and availability of lab services at the family health centers may change from time to time. Changes to the schedule are posted on www.armchealth.org and on ARMC’s social media at https://www.facebook.com/ARMCHealth.
